Hi, I am Nina and I blog over at Crazy for Cookies and More. I am excited to be a guest blogger for Jessi today!
My favorite time of year has arrived! I love fall and the months of September, October and November.
Slow Cooker Halloween Hot Chocolate
Ingredients:
- 2 cups whipping cream
- 2 cups half and half
- 16 ounce can of Hershey’s Syrup
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- whipping cream- garnish
- Halloween Peeps-garnish
It’s time to break out the long pants, sweaters, and jackets. Along with all this comes Halloween! It is nice to come home from an evening out trick-or-treating to a slow cooker full of warm hot chocolate.
To make your hot chocolate festive for Halloween, use Halloween Peeps instead of marshmallows! I think the ghosts are super cute floating in a mug of hot chocolate. Actually I may never have hot chocolate again with just marshmallows. These Peeps are a real treat. I love the texture of the sanding sugar on the outside of the Peeps. It also helps the Peeps from getting gooey like marshmallows do.
Directions:
Put all ingredients into a slow cooker and cook on low for 2 hours. Serve right away or put your slow cooker on the “keep warm” setting if you have that setting available.
If you are looking for a quick and easy dinner after returning from trick-or-treating or really after any busy day, you might try my Mom’s Sloppy Joe’s. These can be made ahead of time and also be warm in the slow cooker upon arriving home. This recipe is a favorite in my house and has also been a big hit on my blog.
For the end of a great Halloween evening you could also have Malted Milk Ball Cupcakes!
I hope you all have a safe and happy Halloween! Thank you Jessi for allowing me to hang out on your blog today and share some of my favorite fall recipes. If you find yourself wandering out on the internet, I would love for you to follow me on my blog or on my social media sites.
