I really love our white porcelain kitchen sink, but oh my gosh does it ever get dirty! Luckily, I know an AWESOME trick for cleaning a porcelain sink in just ten minutes, with very little scrubbing required. It cleans food and hard water stains, scratches, and scuff marks from pots and pans!
The secret is Bar Keeper’s Friend, a cleanser and polish that you can use on copper, tile, brass, stainless steel, porcelain, plastics, and glass cooktops. And it is AMAZING! I can clean a totally icky porcelain sink in under ten minutes, with very little scrubbing!
How To Clean A Porcelain Sink
You only need a few supplies and about ten minutes of your time to clean your sink. Here’s what you need: (affiliate links below to the products I use and recommend)
Here’s what the sink looked like before…
There were black scuff marks all over it from pots and pans bumping into the edges.
And the basin was totally stained! When I wash dishes, I always wash out the sink with a bit of dish soap when I’m done, but those stains wouldn’t budge.
Luckily, it’s easy to clean! All you need to do is get the entire sink wet, then shake a bit of the Bar Keeper’s Friend powder all over the sink. Get your scrubby sponge wet and use the scrubby side to wipe down the sink. For stubborn stains or black marks, use a little elbow grease to really work the stain out. But for 90% of the “mess” in the sink, all you’ll have to do is gently rub the cleansing powder into the sink, using the scrubby side of the sponge.
And about ten minutes after I started cleaning, the sink looked like this!
It looks brand new again! And the stains in the basin and scuff marks around the edges are totally gone!
