Here’s what you need:

Ingredients:

  • tomatoes
  • basil chiffonade
  • mozarella cheese
  • loaf of french bread
  • balsamic vinegar

Homemade Caprese Bruschetta-5

Directions:

Wash the basil and tomatoes. Dice the tomatotes and slice the basil into thin strips (chiffonade).

Pour about a quarter cup of balsamic vinegar into a small saucepan and turn it on medium-high. Stir constantly once it begins to simmer to help the vinegar reduce. Once it begins to thicken (about 8-10 minutes), turn off the burner, pour the balsamic vinegar reduction into a glass measuring cup, and set it aside to cool and reduce further.

Slice a ball of mozarella into cubes, then slice a loaf of french bread into thick strips. Put the bread on a cookie sheet and toast it gently under the broiler for a few minutes to give it a nice golden color.

After the bread is toasted, add diced tomatoes, basil chiffonade, and cubed mozarella on top of every piece. Then drizzle the whole thing with the balsamic vinegar reduction. And that’s it, you have caprese bruschetta! It’s a great appetizer or light lunch, and it’s totally delicious!
